Heart Land Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation

Therapeutic Horsemanship

Heart Land Horse Rescue is excited to offer several new programs:

Equine Assisted Therapy for the learning disabled, crime victims and for those grieving:

Grooming, touching, LEARNING...it's all good! The act of grooming is
VERY soothing and focusing for autistic kids. And it can be an
excellent family centered activity. We are all about family centered
activities!!!! Special Needs families can become fractured very
easily. Siblings can feel excluded and act out, parents fight, it can
be rough. There are few things that they can all do together and
horses, farms and all that comes with it is PERFECT for them! Another
huge segment of the population that is VERY underserved are crime
victims. Especially those transitioning to new lives free of domestic
violence. Woman and children need to re-learn trust and assimilate new
bonds, horses are a wonderful tool for this. Woman and horses have an
extraordinary bond anyway, in this situation it is even more powerful.

For those who are grief stricken, grooming and loving on a horse can also

be a powerful therapy.

Please note that these sessions are non riding programs.

Sessions last an hour and the fee is $35 per family.

Sessions are available Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Please call to schedule an appointment.

Our mini's were both abandoned and rescued by HPAF. We adopted them in August 09 and will use them as Ambassador's for Heart Land as well as therapy equines! Yet to be named, be sure to check back for updates as to their progress!
